There is a very big difference between having an idea and actually doing something with it.
I know this because I had the idea for Soul Submitted long before I knew how to create a clothing brand. I could see it in my head. Clothing that actually represented the Gospel. Clothing that believers would genuinely want to wear. Designs simple enough for everyday life but strong enough to say something of eternal value.
Great. Now what? I had absolutely no idea.
It's one thing to doodle a design, it's another thing entirely to turn that doodle into an actual product that someone can wear.
Theres so many decisions to make and boxes to check off.
Fabric/ style * Printing type * Sizing
Then theres 'getting the brand known'
Websites/ social media Photography/ videos * Shipping costs and systems
PLUS the other one million other things you don't think about when you have your brilliant little
idea sitting in your head.
But .......I started. I made a prototype.
And then I started figuring things out and learning the process.
You know we can spend alot of time waiting to feel ready; waiting for more knowledge, more confidence, more money, more experience. or, for us Christians, more certainty that this is what God wants. Meanwhile, the idea is still sitting there.
Sometimes you just have to make the first version and it most likely wont be perfect.
Mine certainly wasn't!
Starting out on your God mission may mean -
* You might have to learn things you never expected to learn.
* You might have to ask for help.
* You might have to admit you don't know what you're doing.
That's okay. Actually, I think it's more than okay. It's normal. The people who look like they know exactly what they're doing often started where everyone else did; with a first step.
That's how Soul Submitted began.
Not because I had every answer but because I couldn't shake the idea and it got more and more loud in my heart -" to redeem the use of the cross for Christ"
I didn't get a road map or a business plan given to me I had no business mentor or amazing social media strategist. I JUST had the NEXT STEP.; then the next and next. And I faithfully did them one by one.
Whats YOUR God idea? Is it feeling too big to comprehend?
Please write down the first step, just that FIRST ONE !
Ask the Lord for His help in doing it; you never know what might be on the other side of that one step.
Just like me you might just make the shirt and figure out the rest with Jesus.
Keep going,
